Xperia 1 Professional Edition is the new version of the smartphone that Sony has decided to present to the public at an event in Japan.
The Professional Edition does not entail any substantial changes compared to Xperia 1, but brings new features that are fully focused on the professional field and that improve efficiency in certain areas, such as photography.
To start with, the smartphone has a 4K OLED screen with a 21: 9 aspect ratio that can support 10-bit signal and a better calibrated screen with an Illuminant D65 color profile.
Regarding the camera, the company introduced the Imaging Edge Mobile app on the device, which can transfer the images and videos from Sony cameras & # 39; s wirelessly to the smartphone. On the other hand, the Transfer & Tagging function allows users to add tags and captions to their photos.
The smartphone also comes with Ethernet support for the USB Type-C charging port in this way, those who need better connections in terms of overall reliability and speed can benefit from a wired connection.
As for the specification sheet, that remains unchanged compared to its "less professional" brother: there is a Snapdragon 855 under the hood, coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It is boosted by the same 3,330 mAh battery and comes with Android 9 Pie from the box.
The Xperia 1 Professional Edition comes with a price tag of JPY 143,000, which after conversion translates into $ 1,320 and will be available for purchase in Japan on October 25.
