I am going to precede this message by saying that I am not a doctor or nutritionist and that I do not claim to know how each individual will respond to juice cleansing. I have done a few juice cleanings in recent years. My first two were done with juices that I bought from a local juice producer here in Portland. But you know what? It is super expensive. During a typical juice cleaning, I drink 6 glasses of juice and a lot of water every day. I have also found it useful to supplement my juice cleansing with some homemade bone broth that I make in the slow cooker or instant pan just because I long for something warm, especially during the cooler months. I like to buy my fruit and vegetables on Sundays and prepare them all. Then, during the week, I like to prepare the individual juices every day for optimum freshness. It is said that juice is at its peak if you consume it within 15 minutes of preparation, but 24 hours is great too. In fact, these juices can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
